TOPSHOT – EDITORS NOTE: Graphic content / The bodies of Rohingya refugee are brought to shore on a boat by fellow Rohingyas after being recovered on the Naf river, as scores of refugees tried to flee from Myanmar to Bangladesh, near Ulubunia in Ukhiya on September 6, 2017.
The victims were shot by the Myanmar army as they crossed the Naf into Bangladesh, according to the refugees who recovered their bodies from the river. More than 125,000 refugees have flooded across the border into Bangladesh. Most are Rohingya, a Muslim ethnic minority that the government of Buddhist-majority Myanmar largely does not recognise as citizens.
