Harley Jelis/Released) تراجعت المساعدات التدريبية العسكرية الأمريكية إلى دول الخليج في عام 2015 بعد ثلاث سنوات متتالية من النمو، وهو ما يوفر لمحة على ما يمكن أن يكون في عهد الرئيس دونالد ترامب الذى تعهد بخفض المساعدات الخارجية. لكن نظرًا للفوائد التي يقدمها التدريب العسكرى للولايات المتحدة، وأنصار هذا التوجه داخل الإدارة الأمريكية؛ يشير مراقبون إلى احتمالية أن تفلت هذه المساعدات من التخفيضات. وفقا لمرصد المساعدات الأمنية (سام)، وهو جزء من مركز أبحاث السياسة الدولية ومقره واشنطن، قدمت الولايات المتحدة تدريبًا لـ4136 من أفراد الجيوش الخليجية في عام 2015، مقارنة بـ 4.748 في العام السابق.
